SECOND GENERATION INTENSE PULSED LIGHT(I2PL)

The Ellipse I²PL system is used to treat a wide range of skin conditions, including the removal of unwanted hair, vascular lesions, epidermal pigmented lesions and  photo-damage.

Second Generation Intense Pulsed Light (I²PL) uses a treatment methodology called Selective Photothermolysis, also used with lasers, to target specific chromophores in the epidermis.

It is very important to have a professional consultation with one of our  I²PL consultants either Emma or Loretta in order to ascertain whether the treatment is appropriate for you.

Our second generation intense pulsed light systems  use the latest technology and are only available in medical rooms ensuring you receive a safe and effective treatment.

Sun Damaged Skin Treatment

Skin rejuvenation treatment helps you keep a younger and fresher look.
The safe, visible light emitted from the flash – lamp makes your face look smoother by removing age spots and diffuse redness and by improving your skin texture.

Uneven pigmentation is also reduced. Many women report that it becomes easier to apply makeup. Facial treatments are most popular, but all parts of the body can be treated.

How does the treatment work?

The pulse light is carefully filtered in two ways to ensure that only light with the correct characteristics (wavelengths) is allowed to reach your skin.

The light that is allowed through has been chosen because it is the sort that two natural body substances respond to. Age spots contain a substance called melanin, and diffuse redness contains a substance called haemoglobin. When cells containing a lot of melanin or haemoglobin are hit with the right type of light, they heat up and are destroyed within a few thousandths of one second.

Vascular and Facial Capillary Treatment

Vessels to be treated are most commonly found near the surface of the skin.

The visible light from the flash-lamp is guided to the blood vessels needing treatment. The unique system carefully filters this light in two ways to ensure that only light with the correct wavelengths is allowed to reach your skin.

Blood contains haemoglobin that absorbs the light and converts it into heat. This heat destroys the protein in the wall of the thread vein. As a result the veins will gradually, and safely, disappear after treatment.

To ensure optimal light transmission to the blood vessel, a thin layer of gel (similar to that used in ultrasound) is applied to the region of skin to be treated.

Skin Texture Treatment

Our medical grade systems offer the market’s brightest light – based skin texture treatment. By combining the pulsed light treatment with a revolutionary skin spray, the treatment delivers visible improvements in as little as one month.

A course of treatment benefits skin texture and additionally reduces the appearance of fine lines. This unique approach to reducing the signs of aging is thoroughly tested by dermatologists.

How does the treatment work?

The Skin Texture Treatment is a two step procedure.

First the skin is sprayed with a Photo Spray every 5 minutes for 1 hour.
This spray acts as a photosensitiser, making you skin more receptive to the light and improves skin texture and fine lines by collagen stimulation.

2. After spraying, a transparent water based gel (similar to that used in ultrasound examinations) is applied to your face. Our I²PL operator guides the visible light from the flash-lamp to your face going over the area 3 times. Treatments are one month apart and 3 are required.
